Martin's Debut

Martin's Del Mondo debut was short but happy. Here he is with a poem and a couple of songs a capella.

Fast Car, Blocked window.

A bit shaky in parts. (I mean the video, not the playing) Pity about the big truck parked outside the window, depriving us of our lovely depth of field view of Guildhall Square. They were making a film in Shipquay St until 4am.

The talent's great. And the playin's not that bad either.

Didn't I promise you some nice video this week? Well here it is. Good to see Tara performing at the Open Mic after a long time away. More coming soon...

Why don't you come on over?

There are literally hundreds of covers of Valerie on Youtube but this is the best. Once again, the video quality's not great but will get better. Can't remember who the two in the background are but never mind them and listen...

Death by Casio 2 - Extended, minus dancers

James & Rory, without the help of Janey & Bridget's dancing accompanimet ploughed powerfully on.

What the hell...

Sean without the rest of The Reverb at Open Mic Del Mondo. Sorry about the not great video quality. The sound is much better and that's what matters. Should have some nice footage of next week's gig.

Death by Casio!

Thanks to everyone who came along, cheered, played and sang last night. You made my night as Tina's temporary replacement very enjoyable. No thanks to the furniture wreckers though! 16 acts in all I think. Sorry we had to cut it short at the end. Here's a wee clip of Rory, James, Janey & Bridget with Death by Casio. The podcast and blog will be taking on an exciting new format in the coming weeks with more video and less long podcasts. Maybe more a selection of stuff. If you're a regular, you might not be in one week but you may be the next, so keep coming back and making Del Mondo the best Monday Night out in town.... Tina returns next week. (With a vengeance.)

Love the way you can't be moved

We're back to a quieter but no less lovely Open Mic for February. Technical issues kept us off the radar there for a while. Some great stuff tonight and all in a compact 45mins. Dan's new keyboard continues to eat up the pop scene and there's a treat at the end with Marty and Tina's version of A John Prine Classic. A Roy Arbuckle exclusive too and no mistake. Click on the original artist name of any of the songs on the playlist below to buy the mp3 from Amazon and download the whole podcast here.
